About us

The Aleksić Winery was founded in Vranje, in 2006, paving the way for the revival of viticulture in southern Serbia. It was founded by three sisters, whose love for wine started at an early age, through family traditions. For them, wine has always been more than a job, it is a vocation and a legacy that is passed down from generation to generation.

The Aleksić sisters, alongside with creating unique wines, have created a recognizable brand famous for its quality. Constantly providing their consumers with the highest quality products, they produce 500,000 liters per year with constant growth and a tendency towards further development.

They have 14 labels in their portfolio, which are created by combining knowledge, expertise and the most modern equipment. Gentle and hard-working female hands that proudly bear the title of the first and only female owned winery in the Balkans have managed to be recognized on the domestic and international wine scene alike.

The biggest business endeavor for the sisters is also an endeavor of national importance for the south of Serbia – the lease of 70 hectares of land for raising their own vineyards. By creating its own raw material base, the Aleksić winery increases its production capacities, becoming more competitive on both the domestic and foreign markets, offering wines with a protected geographical origin, and having complete control over quality.

In addition to the local and regional markets of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, Aleksic wines are also available in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates, and the latest challenge that has been successfully overcome has been placing wines on the Chinese and Russian markets.

The wines of the Aleksic winery have so far been awarded 85 medals for quality, while the Aleksić sisters are the winners of the award for best national producer by AWC from Vienna, the Žena Zmaj award for Entrepreneurship, the SAM Award for Business Venture of the Year, and the finalist of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

The Winery

The love for wine has grown into a serious, award-winning business venture in which we strive every day to be better than yesterday. From the very beginning, as today, the company’s headquarters are located in Vranje, where we have a modern building built on 3 levels, as well as 70 ha under vineyards.

Three ladies, three sisters, who improve their knowledge in the field of oenology every day, along with modern technology, are the pillars of the winery.

In step with the latest technologies, the fermentation of white and rosé wines takes place in stainless steel tanks, while red wines are aged in barrique barrel after fermentation.

In homage to quality, with the goal of having the ideal conditions of fermentation and nurturing for each of the products, production of red and white wine is separated in individual halls. In order for the wine to retain all of its characteristics, the production of white and rosé wines takes place in the cellar 8 meters below ground, where the ideal temperature is naturally maintained, while the production of red wines takes place in controlled conditions on an area of 500 m2. In a specially equipped barrique cellar, wine is aged in 107 barrique barrels, which are made exclusively of Serbian oak of various levels of toasting.

Respecting the principles of good business with dedicated work, a strong winery, that successfully writes its second decade of existence, with proven its quality, has been created.
